Detail On-line Monitoring Of Cooling Water
Petrochemical - Chemical industries
In petrochemical and chemical plants a lot of cooling water is used. Although it accounts for roughly 2/ 3 of industrial water use, cooling water is relatively easy to treat and in return easy to reuse. One of the major problems, however, with open or closed cooling systems is the possible leakage of several chemical compounds into the cooling water. In order to detect and control possible leakage a Total Organic Carbon TOC) analysis or Total Carbon ( TC) analysis can be carried out.
When volatile compounds such as Nafta, MTBE, gasoil, LCCS ( Light Catalytic Cracker Spirit) , Heavy CCS... need to be monitored, the on-line analyzer will be configured to TC measurements.
The on-line analyzer system can be supplied as a single unit for installation at a sample take-off point, or can be integrated in a protective cabinet or shelter for outside placement. Please check the detailed section on this:

Sample preconditioning
Many chemical compounds are characterized by poor solubility, affecting analysis results. To reach low detection limits for some hydrocarbons, the sample is homogenized at the sample inlet pipe of the TOC analyzer by a specific preconditioning unit.
